Zootopia Review
Disney's latest hit film "Zootopia" is out in theaters and I got to go see this movie with some classmates mine. So, is this movie worth the hype it's been getting on the internet? Is it something that people of all ages can get enjoyment out of?
The answer to both of these questions is yes. I don't want to go into too much detail with this review because I don't want to give anything away but I will share some of my experiences with this movie in the theater.
The two main characters are great, they have solid chemistry and a solid dynamic. Both play off each others behaviors and it never really feels one sided, and the actors did a great job of portraying their relationship.
The story is a very mature one at that, one that a lot of people can relate to, especially college students or graduates in terms of both focusing on the character of Judy Hopps, and its message about prejudice. Like I said, I won't go into too much detail but I am going to share a bit of my experience in watching this.
Lets talk about the humor in this movie real quick. Now I was watching this movie in a packed theater of children and adults, and whenever a joke popped up everyone was laughing, including the adults. There are a decent amount of adult jokes in this movie by the way, more than your average animated film, but it never comes off as overbearing, its all subtle.
The animation in this movie at least in my opinion is beyond the disney standard, even in this day and age. There are so many moments in this movie where the animators put in SO many subtle movements that just made the characters feel all that more real. The team that animated this movie actually studied the movements and unique quirks that all the animals had and incorporated them in masterfully. It just feels like the cherry on top that this movie deserved.
So in conclusion, I highly recommend this movie. I honestly think this is one of the best family films of the year, and one of the best Disney films since "Inside Out". Go check out this movie guys, bring your friends, parents, kids, etc. It's just a really solid film.
