After the passing of RWBY's series creator and voice of Ren, Monty Oum passed away, the role of Ren was given to his brother Neath Oum.

Ruby and Yang's pet Zwei is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, who is most likely a reference to "Cowboy Bebop's" Ein, who is also a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. This is further shown since in German, Ein means "One" and Zwei means "Two"

As of this moment, RWBY has an officially licensed Japanese dub with an all star cast. The first season is currently available on DVD.
