Top 3 Nathan Sharp (Natewantstobattle) anime covers

Top 3 Nathan Sharp (Natewantstobattle) covers

So we all love anime openings right? However not very many people on the internet can do english covers very good. The exception? Nathan Sharp a.k.a. Natewantstobattle.

This man is absolutely amazing! Not only does he practically recreate the music to a T, but he can sometimes rival or even surpass that of the original creators. And were counting down 3 of them, Why 3? Cause while all of them are good, I feel like these are the cream of the crop. So lets get moving!

Number 3

"Crossing Field" from Sword Art Online

Number 3

"Strike Back" from Fairy Tail

Number 3

"The Hero!" from One Punch Man

Well thats all for the moment, Chou for now!

Wolf Children

Wolf Children

From Mamoru Hosoda, the creator of "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" And "Summer Wars" comes "Wolf Children", and today we're going to dissect this movie and find out if its something you should be picking up and watching yourself. Don't worry though, this is going to be a spoiler free review of the movie (with the exception of one at the beginning, which really isn't that much of a spoiler), so if you haven't watched it yet: feel free to stick around!

The story follows a young woman named Hana, a college student who meets a man one day, the two fall in love. One day, the man tells her his secret, he is one of a near extinct race of wolves who can become people. Soon after, the two have a little girl named Yuki, and one year later have a son named Ame. However soon after he is born the father dies in a car accident, leaving Hana to take care of her two children who are able to turn into wolves themselves.

This is the kind of story that really takes the opportunity to do everything with its concept and does it extremely well. It sets up all sorts of problems for the the main character very easily, What will she do if they get sick? How will she teach them to grow up? How will she take care of them? This is a movie that anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed with something can understand, especially parents. The movies pacing is also done pretty well, both times I watched this movie it felt like I was watching someones entire life, which you pretty much are. This movie is two hours long yet it feels like its been 10 years by the time your done, which normally is a bad thing, but it works really well for this movie. You grow attached to all the characters extremely easily and you get fully immersed in it easily.

Over all its just a really great movie and I recommend you give it a shot, buy it on blurry, its definetly with it.

My Favorite Pokémon

My Favorite Pokémon

So if there is anything a  kid from my generation would want the most, it may very well be their own Pokémon. What would mine be? Well.......

Zorua

It would have to be Zorua, with out a doubt Zorua. I mean look at this little guy!! He small and cute and grinning!! He's The most adorable little fox I've ever seen and would just be the perfect animal to cuddle with! He has Black and Red fur with beautiful blue eyes.

Not to mention he's based off of one of my favorite Japanese mythical creatures, the Kitsune. A fox with the ability to transform into anyone, and Zorua can do just that, not to mention he can transform into any other pokémon too.

Overall this little guy would be the best pet ever for me and I can only dream of the day I get to have my own.

Sub VS Dub

Sub VS Dub

I am going to be honest in the fact that there are some dubs that are legitimately bad, like omg...the cringe!!! But, there are a lot of shows that are really good in dub, some even better than sub (at least in my opinion). I honestly do like some shows in sub better than dub like you. But I do know for a fact that the people in dubbing companies like Funimation or Aniplex do not just take random people off the street or just people who are only in it vaguely, most of these voice actors have had well over 10 year of experience (Vic Mignogna, Monica Rial, Cherami Leigh, Todd Haberkorn, etc.). Though there are shows that have miscasts or just have bad dialogue/ scripts the don’t match the lip movements though I believe them to be few and far between.
I do have to admit I prefer watching subs for two reasons:
1. I can’t read the dialogue last enough to understand/get immersed in the plot, and while some argue that pausing the video’s can help, that just sucks me out of it personally, I don’t like having to pause it and look away from the amazing artwork in font of me, though there are some shows that don’t rely on heavy amounts of dialogue.
2. I just prefer watching a show in my own language, it makes me relate to these characters just a bit more and really helps me feel like the characters are more human to me.
3. There are a decent amount of anime that use verbal humor such as puns. One such example that I can remember is when I was watching "Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger" in one of the episodes there is a Monster that transform people into chestnuts after he scares them, now why is this? The joke is that the word for "Chestnut" in Japan, sound the exact same as the word "Surprise" in Japan. One of the lines the monster says is "Were you surprised that they turn into chestnuts?", which in Japan is funny because it's a pun on their language. It's not funny to americans because there is nonsuch pun like that, now if this show was in america, the monster would've probably said something along the lines of: "I Love driving you humans nuts!!" which while isn't laugh out loud hilarious, still makes sense.
To sum things up, I like both and recognize that both have their problems depending on the show. And give both the benefit of the doubt, and does it really matter the voice of a character as long as we still care about them (unless its annoying to listen to)? No, Why? Because the writers of both versions look at the original versions and still adapt the story so that the original intentions shine through. And in doing so we still know how we are supposed to feel about the characters.
So it doesn’t matter really what version you watch in my opinion as long as you find the version that suits what you love best.

Rest in piece David Bowie and Alan Rickman

Rest in piece David Bowie and Alan Rickman

Well, our first two celebrity death of the year...*sigh*, Its just sad to see such good talent go so soon, and at the same age and from the same illness none the less.

I'll be honest, I heard A LOT about David Bowie as a musician, and it saddens me that I haven't gotten the opportunity of listening to his work. But I have seen 2 music video's, His interpretation of "The Little Drummer Boy" and his song in the film "Labyrinth" (Which I still need to watch), and I thought they were both pretty good. And I'll always remember the opening line to the song in Labyrinth, I don't know why but it's just so memorable!

Now as for Alan Rickman, I did watch the Harry Potter movies, and I thought he was the best casting choice for the role of "Prof. Snape", and he's one of the reasons why he's my favorite character in the franchise next to Voldemort. He just really embodied the character and from what I've heard from interviews was a really nice guy and pretty good friends of J.K. Rowling. Fun Fact, he actually was told Snape's secret by the offer before the book was released by J.K. Rowling herself so that he could better figure out the characters motivation. I still regret that I haven't gotten the opportunity to see the last film and see him perform again, but I probably will soon.

While  I may not know these two as well as many of their fans, but I still respect the impact they've had and their tremendous contributions to the media industry.

Rest in piece you two, You will Always be remembered and we will always be reminded of you when ever we think of your music and films.

RWBY Review (Seasons 1 and 2)

RWBY Review (Seasons 1 and 2)

Well I finally saw Seasons 1 and 2 of RWBY, and what do I think?
Well lets get to the story before that:

The story takes place in a world known as "Remnant", a place littered with creatures of Grimm run wild. The only ones who can stop them are the Huntsmen, warriors who are sent to defeat these creatures with their weapons and magic. We follow a young girl named Ruby Rose, an energetic 15 year old girl who wants to become a Huntress herself. After impressing the headmaster of Beacon Academy her new life begins as we follow her on her journey to become a Huntresss and save the world from the creatures of Grimm, and other looming threats.

It comes across as a basic shōnen style plot line with typical characters you'd see in those kinds of shows, but it surprisingly makes these otherwise typical cookie cutter characters and gives them a lot more personality after get a chance to meet them. This shows also very unique in how funny, memorable it is while being a show that you could honestly show to kids (Well as long as your ok with them seeing monster getting cut in half or weapons that can also transform into guns)! It also has a surprisingly large world and interesting mythos that is just filled with possibilities. And one of the surprising things about it is its message, The story has a lot of emphasis on growing up and becoming an adult that really makes you think as well as relate a lot more to these characters.

Speaking of characters, this show has a pretty decent amount of characters, you'll definitely find a couple that you'll like. The show gives a pretty good amount of screen time to all of the characters with great designs and personality, not just Ruby and her team, my favorite character isn't even a part of her team! The villains don't have too much development in the  first 2 volumes with the exception of one of the sub groups, however it does seem that they are working towards making them a very powerful threat. Ruby herself is a good character, she's funny, very likable, relatable and is a strong independent female character with a pretty great design. No literally she has some of the best action sequences in the entire series.

Speaking of action sequences, The Animation...This is where many people decide wether or not to watch the show. When watching this show you have to cut these animators some slack when you know that this show was made on a tight budget, with self taught animators. The series is almost entirely computer generated, only a handful of scenes being in 2-D. I've heard several complains that they don't like some of the ways the characters move or how the voices don't always match the lip movement. But the animation in the series honestly only gets better as time goes on, and the animators get better and better. But even wit some of these constrictions, one of the things that is perfect ever since the very first episode is its fight sequences. They're fast, fluid, well choreographed, and some of the best that I've seen in an animated series.

The music in this show is impressive to say the very least, every song you can tell had a long time period of hard work and effort put into them and they are extremely good in effecting the mood of a scene. The two opening themes are be far two of the best songs, showing the shows main moral message that I was discussing earlier.

With all these elements put into account I am going to ay that the show is definitely with a watch and I will give it

9/10

So let me know what you all though of RWBY in the comments, see ya next time!
