Rest in piece David Bowie and Alan Rickman
Well, our first two celebrity death of the year...*sigh*, Its just sad to see such good talent go so soon, and at the same age and from the same illness none the less.
I'll be honest, I heard A LOT about David Bowie as a musician, and it saddens me that I haven't gotten the opportunity of listening to his work. But I have seen 2 music video's, His interpretation of "The Little Drummer Boy" and his song in the film "Labyrinth" (Which I still need to watch), and I thought they were both pretty good. And I'll always remember the opening line to the song in Labyrinth, I don't know why but it's just so memorable!
Now as for Alan Rickman, I did watch the Harry Potter movies, and I thought he was the best casting choice for the role of "Prof. Snape", and he's one of the reasons why he's my favorite character in the franchise next to Voldemort. He just really embodied the character and from what I've heard from interviews was a really nice guy and pretty good friends of J.K. Rowling. Fun Fact, he actually was told Snape's secret by the offer before the book was released by J.K. Rowling herself so that he could better figure out the characters motivation. I still regret that I haven't gotten the opportunity to see the last film and see him perform again, but I probably will soon.
While I may not know these two as well as many of their fans, but I still respect the impact they've had and their tremendous contributions to the media industry.
Rest in piece you two, You will Always be remembered and we will always be reminded of you when ever we think of your music and films.
